Frequently asked questions

How do I book an appointment?

You can contact me by phone most frequently on 07968294997 or email me at info@JoAtkinsCounselling.co.uk or use the link to arrange a time that suits us both.

Please provide a contact telephone number as email responses can end up in your 'JUNK FOLDER'.

How will I know if counselling is right for me?

I offer an initial assessment session during which time you can ask me any questions you have and decide whether counselling is right for you.

What benefits can I expect?

You can expect to feel completely listened to in an environment where it is safe for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a way you may not have experienced before. The therapeutic relationship is a unique relationship where you will feel valued and feel able to move forward.

How many sessions will I need?

Counselling and psychotherapy work best when you attend weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes each (60 minutes for couples). You may decide you want to come for a few sessions to gain some clarity and focus on your problems or you may want to work at a deeper level and enjoy the support you will gain from the relationship. Whatever you choose we will work together to agree on how many sessions are right for you so we know when counselling will come to an end. By mutual agreement, we will arrange a day and time each week committed to you.

What will it cost?

£70 per session for individuals. £90 for couples. Concessions for counselling students. Initial Assessment sessions are charged at the full rate. 24 hours are required for cancellations.

Many clients have healthcare insurance policies and employees assistance packages that cover my fees including BUPA, AVIVA, CIGNA, WPA, NUFFIELD HEALTH, CARE FIRST, HPA, OneBright and others. Please call me to discuss further.

Where is my practice?

My practice is based in Ewell Village, Epsom with parking close by.
